Default tcs switch installation

What type of seal is used when installing a tcs switch in a Munci transmission for a 72 LT1 corvette?

Looking at the AIM seems like there's only a gasket used

I bought a copper or brass washer at the local Ace hardware.

The seal is provided by a copper washer.

I’m told by an original owner of an early build 1970 that the washer wasn’t initially used in production and leaked badly as a result. The washer was added later in 1970 production to eliminate the leak.

Default TCS switch seal

When I removed the broken switch from the transmission, I found 2 copper washers. The previous owners had broken off the plug on the outside and removed the steel ball on the inside and brazed the hole shut. I saw in the Chevrolet Chassis Overhaul Manual that in the transmission break down, a gasket was shown but I didn't know what it was made of.

What does the TCS system do on a 1972 LT1? I did not know they used one or is it an aftermarket device? Sorry about the dumb questions.....

TCS ( Transmission Control Spark System ) it operates in controlling the vacuum to the vacuum advance on the distributor.
The vacuum is blocked until the transmission is third or fourth gear, or when the motor overheats.

And why wouldn't you want vacuum advance in all four gears ?? TCS was a result of the Feds emission mandates.

When I was researching the TCS system on my 73 and putting everything back to OEM I had one of those light blub moments and said no way that is going back on the car. One example of GM engineers getting it wrong by being force into bad emission regulations.
