Any recommendations for some heavy duty half shafts for my 69 vette with 650hp and 600 trq I will be running tom's 31 spline inner and outer stub axles with probably a 12 bolt rear end my tranny is a t56 rated at 700
I had mine custom made locally at a truck driveshaft shop for 1480 Spicer solid joints. 3.5" x 134" wall tubing. Using it with Tom's outer axles and my custom Dana 60 IRS setup.
I did some math on this a while ago. With your power the 3.5"x.134" wall half-shaft should be great, and under no more stress than a stock half-shaft with a stock 350.
On the other hand, even the 1480 u-joints will be at or past their stress limits with a stick shift and all that gear multiplication!
You need their strength vs the stock sized 1350s.

So then I would run the 1480 inner and outer stub axels .
I just did Tom's 31 spline outer axles-- the catalog price is not correct. I don't remember the actual cost, but I think it was $1050.00 Bearings, seals, spacer, studs, (your choice of 7/16 or 1/2" ) and the axles.
