Default Transmission Cooler Lines

Hello all,
This weekend I finished getting the trans cooler lines ran to the B&M SuperCooler that I mounted in front of the condenser (another post). I used the hole in the core support that the a/c lines go through. The 3/8" lines are pretty small so I'm hoping there will be enough space for when the a/c lines get installed. If not, I think the hole can just get enlarged so hopefully nbd.
I ran the lines across the passenger fender well and down to the frame and then in front of the heat/splash shield. I tried not to make any new holes in the car to clamp the hoses down. I used one of the holes that secures the upper CA cover just pulled out one of the push pins and ran a bolt through it with a clamp. I used 4 of those little aluminum hose separators along the path to keep it clean and more secure. For the next clamp I used a large butterfly molly in the large factory oval hole in the frame. The next clamp I had to drill a 1/8" hole in the splash/heat shield. Looks OK to me but then what do I know, lol!
I used 45 degree -6 AN fittings on the trans but ended up just using clamps on the trans cooler, I put some heat shrink on the ends to clean them up a bit.

Pics attached.

Clean install. So not using any hard lines then? Will your hood still clear that cooler when opened?

Sci85,
Yeah, no hard lines. One was OK but the other one was cut off short so thus the braided hoses. Also, the hard lines size is really small and the hoses are 3/8". Hood should close fine as the condenser and trans cooler look like they are below where the factory condenser bracket bolts in.
Thanks for the reply.

I like the heat shrink idea. I wonder if it would work better than electric tape when cutting the hose?

carriljc,
There's supposed to be some type of end piece that you can get to finish as hose clamp end. I've ordered a hose kit from Summit for the Borgeson plumbing that's has this part. The hose I used has a nylon outer with stainless under it and the nylon frays pretty badly, so the shrink cleaned it up nicely. I had not thought about using it for cutting hoses. Interesting idea.

Nice job Basque32.
I used the hose that came with the B&M cooler, but I like yours better.
The 3/4" thick coolers will clear the hood nose when open. The 1 & 1/2" units likely too tight of fit.

When you get it up & running it may take several minutes for the ATF to make a complete cycle and show up on the dipstick.
Especially if routing through the lower Rad first.

Thanks HeadsU.P..
Yeah, I hope it works out well as designed. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep an eye on it. I test fitted the torque converter tonight so it looks like the engine will go back in tomorrow, unless Murphy raises his head, lol.
