Default 1971 Corvette Headlight Issues

Upon pulling the light switch at the dash, My headlights turn on, but within seconds they turn off and won't come back on again.
Anybody have any insight on this issue? Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Circuit breaker in the headlight switch is tripping.
Do you have stock headlights?
Have you checked the condition of the plugs on the headlights?

I've been trying to figure out if there was a breaker in the headlight switch. Thank you for confirming.
This car was flooded during a hurricane. All wiring disconnected, dried, and reconnected.
The headlights are stock. Bulbs are new.
The plugs aren't in the best shape but I've inspected them, and they all seem to be making good contact.
The wiring also isn't in the best shape but I don't see any issues that would cause overheating.
The dimmer switch tested good (zero resistance), but I did notice it's hot to the touch.
INST/LPS fuse looks good.

Try replacing the dimmer since it gets hot and I assume was under water. Easier than changing the headlight switch.

Thanks, Mel.

Speaking of that, any suggestions on a good 'How To' thread to reference if I do need to replace the headlight switch?

When I replaced mine, 1980's, there were no videos. Opened up the factory Chassis Service Manual and followed the instructions. I'm sure using Google you can find something.

the dimmer and breaker can fail without having ever having spent time submerged.. ditch your flashers too. storm surge? salt water?

It was flooded with fresh water.
I replaced both the flasher and turn signal relays and they both work perfect.
