Mark ran it with a bigger carb so he got more HP than I did, running an AED 750 double pumper to get my numbers rather than a 1000 cfm Mark tried. over 550 HP is all I will ever need and then some. I do want to keep the rest of the driveline from grenading. I have totally stripped all the wiring and interior including steering column. Working on detailing the under dash and then sound and heat insulation. I will then detail underhood since its pretty empty. Once its clean and tidy I will install the hydraulic clutch Master, wiring and then hydroboost. followed by Borgenson box. Hopefully that order will allow me maximum access for each job.
I will then do the wiring, front to back, electric headlight motors as well as wiper cover electric motors. Dakota Digital gauges to complete the wiring project. Next will be front and rear suspension ( Vansteel coilover conversion )
that should finish up with engine install and Tremec TKX install. Ill check with Gary Remadi on his schedule to send him my differntial
Wilwood brakes and bigger Torque Thrust wheels and tires should get it moving.
Only part I am waiting on is the L88 hood which takes a very long time from my vendor
I will post some more pics shortly
aAre it going to run a newer power steering pump? I was looking and found a GM double return line for the pump so that you don’t need to “T” the return lines from the Borgenson and hydro boost.

Dagious

do you mind sharing the part number for the steering pump with the additional line. I like the idea of not running a T or a Y in the line

There are a few different makers, but here is the one I'm eyeing through Amazon (for pricing and return possibility):
Amazon Amazon

ACDelco GM Original Equipment 20756715 Power Steering Pump

Making good progress although not good at posting and updating. The suspension and brakes are done and the Vansteel coilovers etc went in without drama. Upgraded the brakes to Wilwood and bled them yesterday. the Hydroboost and mc are bolted in and will finish the hoses on the hydroboost once engine is in. Borgenson box is in. Dakota Digital gauges are in and the control box as well as the CDI box are under the passenger dash. the interior is in and will install steering column once engine is in.
All the wiring is completed including Richard454 headlight and wiper cover electrics. Relays are in for the the electric fuel pump ( in tank ) headlights etc. New L88 hood arrived and just on for a test fit ( L88 cold air chamber installed )

I will soon mate the Tremec to the engine as well as fit hydraulic throw out bearing. I hired a welder to weld the removeable crossmember. He did a great job but doing this with the body on was difficult as well as nerve racking. Luckily no fires. I installed Torque Thrust 2 wheels, 17 x 8 in front and 18 x 9 in the rears. Sure made a world of difference in cars appearance. Once engine is installed I will have to get exhaust built and welded to the Super Comp headers. I will send this to a pro to do. I spent a lot of time in the heat mitigation challenge. I installed heat and noise insulation under the car, in the tunnel and in the passenger cabin. Headers are ceramic coated by JetHot.
Dewitts radiator with dual fans will go in after the engine ( quick disconnect already installed for the Spal fans).

Alignment will be done around the time exhaust is finished. Ill tackle the L88 hood paint after car is sorted out.

this project has been way more involved than I anticipated and now I am wondering what I should do next although I dont want to spend retirement savings for another project.

Thanks and I know you’re knee deep in yours as well. I’m really anxious to get this on the road but I don’t want to rush and do a bad job. Some of the work is a first time for me. I’m excited about the Dakota gauges. I also bought their fan controller for the dual fans. I’m glad I got a higher output alternator to deal with the electrical load including the motors for the headlights and wiper door as well as electric fuel pump etc. my target is to get it running before year end. I’ll paint the hood after everything is sorted out. Lots of dust and gravel on AZ roads so a high dollar paint job may not be worth it

I’m the same way.
I’m not rushing mine at all.
I have plenty of work to do and if I get stalled doing one thing, I can switch gears and go back and work on something else.
Today I’m getting a little rear coil over suspension work done while I wait on some front suspension parts to come back from Van Steel.
I might switch over to do the fit check of my alternator bracket, ac bracket and pulleys, or even mount up the flywheel.

Not to derail any of you guys, Just FYI. Awhile back when I did the Blue Angel 69 resto-mod, I went with the Jones accessory package. Fit like a glove! Very happy with it.

Not to derail thread but what kind of lift is that , it looks like a low profile set up .

Nicely done. I’m using an L88 hood with cold air. Mine will look a bit more stock but not by much
Should have engine and Tremec in before year end. The good driving weather is just starting here in Arizona

Default USB port

I realized I won’t be using a cigarette lighter so I enlarged the opening to add a usb port. Just open the ashtray and plug in. This connects to my updated stereo

I went ahead and deleted the ashtray as well. Besides the USB dual charging ports, I added a blue digital volt meter gauge. Nice supplement to the ammeter for battery charging diagnostic.
Need to find a tactful No Smoking sign.

My lift is a standard 4 post and I can walk under the car when working. they are surprisingly reasonable ( about $3500 about 18 months ago ) runs on 110 current and works great . I do have a high ceiling garage but its not an RV garage. the best part its a 4 car garage and I can park 5 cars if I drive under the car on lift.

Default Elbow grease

While taking some downtime from wrenching I thought I would do a cut and polish. Took me three days and my back still hurts. Wet sanded with 1000,1500,2500 and 5000. From there got the wool pad to buff then a foam pad. I don’t remember this being so much work when I was twenty som
