Safely on my lift in AZ. Started taking it all apart. December will be the big month when engine and transmission are installed. Every nut, bolt, wire and component has been replaced and or upgraded. Luckily I started buying parts 3 years ago while still working for a living.

Moving it from Monterey Ca to Phoenix. I already removed the engine and trans

When I first bought the car. I’ve only driven it 8 miles since I bought it several years ago

Look forward to more of your thread. Nice you bought the Classic Lift (as I did too) works great with a small footprint.

Beautiful,
I started buying parts 6 years ago and once I started the body off project, I found I was lucky I started when I did.

I made a lot of progress this weekend when my buddy was in town. We installed the engine, Tremec TKX, headers, DeWitts 4 core aluminum radiator with electric fans. Previous to him coming out I ran the lines for the hydroboost which I will terminate once the power steering pump is mounted. I do have to say the Tremec was not as easy as we thought. With the hydraulic release bearing it was a bear to get it seated into the pilot bearing. After installing the engine and trying several times to mate the trans under the car we finally decided to pull the engine, bolt on the trans and install as one unit. Hoisting the mated components over the fender and sliding it in under extreme angle was nerve racking to say the least. Thankfully I had installed a removeable cross member previously so this was possible.
One note for those modding your cars with a Borgenson steering gear, its safe to say that a big block with Hooker long tube 1 7/8 headers fit without issue. One of the easiest header installs I've done. Not sure I will tackle another tremec install but at 67 years young I hope I never have to again. I just have to mount the alternator, steering pump, carb and assorted lines, finish connecting sensors and steering column before I prime the oil and drop in distributor for first fire up.
I hope to post pictures after the holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

That’s a lot of work to get done in a few days.
I’m getting more down time because I need hardware or some little part that needs to be ordered.

Tkx has plenty of room, just a pain to get it mated under the car. We pulled the engine and it slid together fine. Wish I had a body off chassis to make life easy.
I’m using spicers with 3 inch half shafts from Ft Wayne driveline.
I figured with 560 hp I should be fine if I don’t hook up in first

Just an update. Engine is running, all electrical is working, electric in tank pump, electric headlights and wiper covers. Hydraulic clutch bled, brakes bled, radiator burped. Just calibrating Dakota gauges now.
should be able to test drive this week and then schedule exhaust and alignment.
got a a lot of help from this forum which I am very grateful

Mark Jones / VortecPro built the motor
cam is 228-238 hydraulic roller. Iron heads, hooker supercomp long tubes with a 750 AED carb
sounds better than I thought it would with that profile

Oh he really knows what he is doing.
Those oval port heads are some of the best ever made and really make good HP when touched by someone like Mark who knows how to wake them up!

I really don’t remember the valve size but it may be listed on his website or YouTube videos. HP is around 570
