Default Non-operational clock in 1980 Vette

I have a non-operational clock in my 1980 corvette. Can someone please tell me if I can remove the existing clock without removing the entire center gauge cluster?
There are 3 allen screws and one **** on the clock face which can be removed I believe in order to remove the clock? Or do I have to pull the center gauge cluster and remove the clock from the back. Also, are these allen screws on the from of the clock, if so, I cant seem to find an allen wrench to fit.

The allen screws are just for decoration and are part of the center cluster.

Yes you have to pull the gauge cluster and remove the clock from the back. Like stated above, the allen screws are for looks only. They don't come out.

I also have an 80, and having issues with clock as well. There are 2 screws up top in front of air vents, 2 on the sides in front of gauges, then there are 2 on each side in the bottom. The bottom ones are screwed into center console, so be careful not break plastic. You must first remove side carpets to get to bottom ones.

Good luck,

As for mine, I think I am going to wait on either Eckler's or Intellitronix's to have that 20% discount again, then I will convert my gauges to the digital blue ones. I don't like that 85mph speedo looking at me. LOL.

cmon where is sense of adventure and nostalgia?

as above..
- pull seats
- pull side carpets
- remove screws as needed PAY ATTENTION TO the top and bottom screws and be careful on the light in the top as well..

a great opportunity to clean the plastic gauges front and back to look like new and any bulbs that need to be replaced..
not a horrific job..
get a manual and AIM, or at least get this for free..

And while it's out this would be an ideal time to install a brand new HVAC vacuum regulator if it's never been replaced or not working correctly , I've replaced one in my black 80 recently and already have one ready to install on my white 80

On my car the seat cushions compress just enough to get at the center screw on the carpet panel without removing the seat, but the seats are a different style. GE repacement bulbs are still available and higher quality than generic ones; new bulbs will be significantly brighter even though the old ones haven’t burned out. Maguiars interior detailer works great for polishing the gauge lenses. Some of the rattling behind the dash is loose wires hitting other parts; tape them or wrap with microfiber cloths for a quieter ride.

You could also replace the broken clock with an oil temp gauge from an '81-'82 like I did.

Its kind of a pain to take all that interior stuff out just to get to that damn clock.

While you take it apart you can also change the bulbs to (LEDs) a color of your choice and paint the interior.

Blue LEDs and painted plastic background.

I like an AFR gauge in the clock spot to see what the Quadrajet is doing.

Still find myself looking to see what time it is.

While we are talking about gauges, does everybody's stock oil pressure pump mark 40 psi when at idle and maybe a little more like 42 when running at 55 mph?

Zip sells an oil temp gauge that was stock in 81 and 82 C3s. Might be more useful than a clock.

"Time" to put a later model quartz clock in there while you have it apart.
