So after spending an hour to get the boot on the first wire. I thought there has to be a better lubricant than this dielectric grease.
Something that won't degrade the rubber, or cause the wires to swell. Then it hit me a water based none greasy lube that wipes right off.
Why would you want to remove it? It acts as a film on the plugs to prevent corrosion and makes the wires easier to remove later. I wouldn't want to put water based anything inside my plug wires, that absolutely will cause corrosion.
Getting the boots on the plugs wasn't the issue. Getting the wire through the boot before crimping the end on. Any oil residue left on plug wires will collect dirt.
But seriously lighten up. Lol.
