wire lucricant Question
Here is my issue. The coil wire does NOT fit the MSD coil in the car.
These are a side by side of the two. The one on the left is the old wire and the one on the right is the new one that came with the wire kits.

That is my issue. The MSD coil in a male. ☹
It is the blue coil. See the male connection in the bottom left?
I am trying to pull the boot and connector in the wire and replace the connector with the new wire. Is there any type of lubricant I can use with these wires?
A while back there was a user who put it on his battery and it was keeping the power from flowing through the connection and his wiring. Die-electric grease is not conductive where as Battery Grease is conductive.
I put too much on the spark plug wires and the spark was jumping to ground anywhere it could other than at the spark plug. The blob I put inside the spark plug caps was enough to block the power from getting to the plugs. Use it sparingly on the rubber parts ONLY.
Dish soap can work as well in a pinch.
When you buy spark plug wires you need to specify what type of distributor you are using. I have done the same thing because I have a HEI distributor and not the stock type. It makes a big difference as one is female and the other is male. You might need to replace the coil wire to make the set work or if you have the tools just change the end of the wire.
