454 valve adjustment
Just did a blown head gasket replacement with minor valve job. Has anyone adjusted the valves with intake on? I did adjust valves just enough to the point where i could not rotate the push rod.

Every engine ever built by GM had the valves adjusted with the intake installed. Why would you need to adjust valves without the intake installed..? Never heard of such a thing...

depends on how tight. i don't like spinning the pushrod. i work it up/down as i tighten them until i feel the lash go to zero. then spin motor and watch-listen-feel for any clackers before doing the 1/4 turn preload.
