How often is it normal to have to adjust the choke on a Rochester Quad.? It was professionally rebuilt in 2020 and just recently it is not working correctly. TIA.

There is nothing that needs re-adjustment, and nothing that can go "out of adjustment," on your divorced choke carb. It will stay in adjustment for the life of the carb. The only thing that can fail on your choke system is that the choke pulloff can rupture and fail, or your choke coil on the manifold can fail. But nothing can go out of adjustment, and failure of either of those components will require component replacement - not an "adjustment."

Yes, I checked my records when I saw your post, and I have all your data. What is the choke doing or not doing? Have you hooked up a long hose to the pulloff and sucked on it?

The little axle on my choke coil was turning in the saddle. I was able to re-stake it, but I couldn't find anything telling me where to index it. I got it close, and it works "OK", but I think it may be loose again.
I think I'll get a new one and drill and pin the axle to the saddle so it can't turn.

I just talked to Jim, and it sounds like there was just a little stickiness in the linkage preventing free and smooth movement of the choke and fast idle linkage. With things free and smooth, car is starting fine again. Jim did the "suck-test" on the choke pulloff, and it operated as it should. Nice job! Now wash the taste down with a cold beer.
