Are you referring to the carb airhorn flame arrestor or the PCV inlet air flame arrestor? The carb airhorn arrestor was only used on the L88 engines. The PCV system arrestor was used on all applications, and the screen assembly presses onto the air inlet tube. I've had cases where the fit was so poor or sloppy that I've put a couple of tack welds on it.
