My parts are finally ALL bought (finally, my CC chip was wearing out), they are either on and fit, or tested and fit, my mechanic measured pushrods yesterday (7.250). I saw some Comp Cams 7.205 High Energy, their lowest series.... High Energy - Economical OE replacement series for street rods and daily drivers.
Magnum – Ideal pushrod series for street performance and mild race engines.
Hi-Tech – Designed for hardcore street performance and race applications.
I bought them because no one that I can find sells them locally, and Amazon can have those here Monday, and I can be toodling around on Tues. To refresh, we have a Smeding 383, AFR 195cc Eliminator heads, 510”/.521” Lift, 231°/236° Duration @ .050 w/ 1.6 rockers. These rods are one piece, 5/16's, and wall is .080, and AFR's only recommendation for pushrods is they be .120.
Wrong pushrods for my set up, or am I ok?
Lots of brands of pushrods. But I would be far more concerned about the length. This is extremely important.
you state you ordered shorter pushrods. Why?

Good Question, he definitely measured, and I thought he told me 7 1/4, but then sent me a link to the Comp Cams 7.020's. I thought he was just getting as close as possible, I'll discuss with him first thing Monday.
1 pc pushrods are ideal...not the ones with the pressed in ball up top
Youll know if those pushrods arent up to the task. It will be noisy, car wont make the power it should or min it will give up early
Id put the recommended ones in. Most overlook pushrods...they can flex a lot with higher pressure springs.
Glad to hear you thought it over and ordered the length the mechanic measured. Hopefully he measured correctly.
I know when I did my engine the pushrods were a bit of a time holdup. But 5 years later, Im glad I did it right.
