Default Side pipe insert identification help please

I pulled these out of the 4” side pipes that are on my car. Anyone recognize the type of insert?
not sure if there is fiberglass between the inner and outer tubes or not.

Was thinking of replacing them with sweet thunder inserts or something for a little more sound. They aren’t bad, but they are a little mellow under 3k.

They look very restrictive. The pipe down the middle looks less than 2 inches. I love my STS Spiral baffles.

Multiple manufacturers make that style of insert, Hooker, Dougs, etc. Originally would have packing in the shell. Sound is very subjective. I've had Hooker, Dougs, Spiral Turbo and Sweet Thunder. Currently using Classic Chambered Exhaust.

Would Vettepack inserts give a little power bump with a deep tone and not crazy loud?

Engine is a GM performance crate 290hp/350 with a stock quadrajet.

Again sound is subjective, anything larger than the 1 5/8" you currently have will be an improvement. I think the vette pack you are are referring to is 2 1/2" but you didn't provide a link.

Ive had the sweet thunders and the STS baffles and I prefer the STS. The sweet thunders were nice but too loud and obnoxious. I could not have a conversation in the car and I had to wear ear protection in the garage when working on the car. The STS has the same sound but just dialed down a bit.

Do you recall what size flowpath your sweet thunder inserts had?
They have 2", 2.25", 2.5", and 3" available.

Pound a potato into each of the sidepipes. Those inserts are restrictive as hell. The exhaust hits a big wall at the entry.
