Default Keyless entry help (79 w/ power locks)

Hi all,

It's been a minute since I've worked on the vette since my kiddo was born but finally slowly getting some time back to work on the car and once again, need your help!

Yesterday I got around to replacing the old door lock actuators and while at it I would like to install a keyless entry module but having trouble figuring out the wiring. I found an older post for a viper 211hv but I believe those must be discontinued (at least I can't find one near me)

I bought this off of amazon:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07L4LTXSK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07L4LTXSK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Now if I understand correctly, I also need two relays due to the reversing polarity in our locks:

I did get the relays and they're connected to a fused 12V but for the life of me I can't figure out how to wire the rest.

In the viper I reckon the blue and black lines were cut and connected to 4 ports on the module, not sure if it would be the same for this one?

If anyone has any idea how to wire this your help would be much appreciated. Not even sure if this module is compatible but if it is hoping one of you knows how to wire it properly.
I would think that 85 on the left and 86 on the right would connect to the lock and unlock wires respectively but unsure how to introduce the blue and black wires into the mix

Thanks as always and happy holidays!
Antonio

I've had a Viper system on my shelf for 5 years, waiting to go in my 79...

Do you have a good wiring diagram?

Not sure why you need the relays. My understanding of the purpose of a relay is to bypass hi current going through a switch. The low current draw for the power switch actuators shouldn’t be an issue ( not like power window motors). I have mine wired in without relays but haven’t finished up the rest of the wiring to tell you how they work. Will be watching this thread. Thx

For the door locks yes I found diagrams:

Maybe I need to tap into the TAN and GREY, not blue but still not really sure how

If I understand correctly the relays are needed for switching polarity. Unfortunately the module I got doesn't have onboard relays (some do)

The installation diagram shows the battery positive going to the ground.
Is that correct?

You know I hadn't even noticed that until you mentioned it? That doesn't seem right and I not how I have it connected, this seems more like it?

@Peterbuilt well you asked the right question that led me to that diagram and solved at least part of the issue of the wires I was missing (yellow to GND)

I still have to figure out how to tap into the power door lock switch or directly to the actuators but that's going to be a tomorrow problem, I'll report back with results

Success!

Ended up having to tap into the grey and tan lines from the door lock switch, and add a 20V inline fuse to power the relays and got it working
