I’m currently running cushioned motor mounts versus the stock all metal mounts. Does anyone know if I would get more hood clearance with the all metal ones?
I'm not sure. But the metal motor mount will not allow the motor to move/rotate when getting on the throttle and drive the air cleaner closer or into the bottom of the hood vs stock rubber mounts that do allow for movement.

THey are the same height but you will like the solid mounts better than the cushioned mounts that will break no matter which kind you buy...you will still need the cushioned tranny mount
I have used the heavy duty rubber mounts that Corvette Central sells for over 20,000 miles.....and they look as good as they day I installed them, and have never broken. Chinese junk....different story probably. So....not all rubber mounts break. The Moroso solid steel mounts are dimensionally the same as the rubber mounts......I bought, and returned them to Summit.
I'm sure I don't. So........to the OP, that does make a difference. If you are going to side step clutch with 6000 RPM shifts on sticky tires......probably should not trust rubber mounts. If you drive like that....you'll be replacing lots of parts.
I don't abuse my machines that way....so the Corvette Central heavy duty mounts work good for me. I don't baby the car....I do drive agressively....but not race car aggressive.

Alright well thanks everyone. I have fairly new rubber ones I put in. I was looking for a way to get 2 more inches of hood clearance. I do drive freely at times but I’ll wait until these break before I worry about it.

Why? I can see the rational for maybe vibration. I had to sort out my drive line angle when I installed my tko 600 to eliminate driveline vibration. So I installed the tail shaft with stacks of big washers to set the tail shaft height and tested. Once I had it set I machined a solid aluminum block for my cross member.
I have the drop base but still need a little space due to the gas pedal line bracket I put in. I don’t want to take it off so I’m looking for a way to gain space. I switched to an LT1 hood from a 73 stock hood. Anyone know the difference in clearance between those hoods?

I would guess that the 73 hood provides more clearance
I always recommend Moroso solid mounts for Corvettes for two reasons.......
The first 1-2 powershift I did with the 406 years ago broke the drivers mount.....
It makes it a lot easier to work on the P/S pump and the fuel pump with them on.....as they are much smaller overall.
They can be used either with a solid trans mount or a urethane/rubber one......I went with the urethane one as the shifter is directly above the mount and bolted to the side of the trans.....I have zero buzz or vibration.....your results may very

Moroso's recommendation to help eliminate buzz and vibration. The old 4 speeds accepted a large amount of runout that the 5 speeds do not so clocking the bellhousing may have helped to eliminate that issue. You will have to call them to get their version...I have no issues
