Vin check
1972 convertible with the base engine, made in St. Louis (as they all were). The 13507th made (right in the middle of production).
Z = Corvette
67 = 2-door convertible (37 = 2-door coupe)
K = base 350 engine (L = LT-1, W = LS-5)
2 = 1972
S = St. Louis, Missouri assembly plant
5 = sequence series beginning with 500001
13,507= the sequence number of this car in the 1972 production year our of 27,004 in total.
Also, the sequence number series' first digit(s) changes in odd, illogical ways. For '72 the VIN sequence begins with 5xxxxx, whereas: '68 began with 4xxxxx, '69 with 7xxxxx, '70 with 4xxxxx, '71 began with 1xxxxx and '73 began with 4xxxxx. The '73 to '81 all used 4xxxxx except for the Pace Cars which used 9xxxxx and the Bowling Green cars which used 51xxxxx. If anyone knows the reasoning behind this, I'd love to learn it.
