Headlamp adjustment link
I rebuilt the assembly and actuators but want to set it up correctly.
Anyone have that how-to link handy ?

Going to watch the video’s a couple times and print the above out. To get this done later today.
My ‘68 was missing the fatter springs on both sides and when raised since I’ve had the car there was never any “snap” as it reached full open.
If I pulled the override switch the lamps would stay closed if I turned the lamps on but if I pulled it with the car running and lamps up and on then shut them off they’d go down anyway.
I rebuilt both actuators and while the accordion seal on both were shot the rod seals were both good but neither had the retaining ring. Both actuators were stripped and repainted with Eastwoods Cad replica paint kit and then shot with satin clear. I replaced the rod seals, the retaining rings installed and new dust boots. Threads were chased with tap and die and new bushings installed. The Clovis pin had to be carefully tapped out of the Clovis with a ballpeen. I spun the pin in a drill press while polishing it with progressively finer sand paper so it would slide into the new bushing but with zero slop.
A small amount of anti-seize used on all threads.
Everything moves very smooth now but as I have it adjusted the lamps need to raise higher. Need to adjust for that and hopefully I witness that snap or thud as it reaches that position. Well also see if it stays up under override the full spring set installed.
