I asked this same question a few years ago. none of the answers I got made any sense to me whatsoever.
so I still have a low corner.
I'll be watching this thread.
The lid is a fixed plane with the pivot behind it, so one of the two rear corners would have to rise as well, but only about 1/2 as much. How is the outside back corners?
In theory you could move the drivers corner of the body up slightly to match the center there and then raise the whole front of the headlight.
In reality, best to average all the edges out and maybe have the outer corner slightly raised and the center one slightly sunk type of thing

They are the ever popular die cast "white metal" (pot metal, zinc, whatever you want ot call it) and yes it could be warped but not likely. The flexibility of the front end fiberglass is more suspect and as I mentioned, the drivers corner of the body could be a little high

I gave up on mine. Years ago I completely rebuilt the pivot mechanisms . Spent a ton of time trying to get them perfect. My right one has one low corner and no matter what I tried, that was as good as I could get it.
many times I have thought about giving it another try.
