Lowered cars....let's see the ride heights
I'm searching for the 'perfect' stance (like this). Admittedly lower than the average C3 owner's taste allows but I'm ultimately trying to gauge if the 2" drop on pretty much all semi-coilover setups will be enough.
So, for those that have lowered, please post a side pic (and a before pic if you have it) along with simple bulleted details (if you have them):
Total tire height
Approximate drop in inches
Front suspension modifications: Spring weight, cut x coils of factory springs, brand X coil overs
Rear suspension modifications
Any weight reduction that would affect the stance
SBC or BBC

So what are your spring weights to keep your body from every touching the tires?

Not my car but kudos to the owner! That’s the wheel gap fitment I’m looking for.

Here's my garbage wagon. 1975 L82 (small block) aluminum radiator, one coil cut off stock springs, 245-60r15 tires. Front fender lip is 26½ inches from the ground. Rear is an Eaton Gymkhana 7 leaf with 8" bolts and 1/2° of inward camber. Rear tire is 275-60r15. I'd like to drop it more in the rear but I'll have to dearch the spring. I don't like the long bolts.

My 77.......1/2 coil removed from Moog coil, and adjusted down in back to match. I think they arch opening is around 27". plus / minus 1/4 inch. These are 17 inch wheels, and tire diameter is around 27 inch too. They are perfectly concentric with wheel well openings. NO ground clearance issues with headers or oil pan.

I hare to be a buzz kill but rear lowering is where it gets tricky.
the half shaft angles must be maintained.
lowering rear will place the shafts at an angle which will cause unstable
rear under/over steer which causes squirrelly rear stability.
at a point, diff must be raised to lower car and maintain the geometry.

There is a member here, can’t recall the username at the moment, that has a green mid-year that has a real nice lowered stance. I want to say he has coil overs in front but not sure. Maybe he will chime in with some details.

Very true! From your experience and research how much drop can the C3 safely get away with in the rear without modifying the diff?

Gawd Dayum, that stance, those wheels, side pipes and an L88 hood. The perfect 69!

Poking around, it looks like having the half shafts close to level at static ride height is the rule of thumb? I'm sure the second link's corvettefaq.com document will have the correct info about it.

I have the Ridetech rear suspension with Global West tubular control arms in front with Viking Dual Adjustable coil over shocks. I'm really happy with the stance now.
The control arms made a HUGE difference. Also 18" Foose rims.
