Ok Fellas I have kinda dumb question. Checking for a drain if I hook meter to battery and terminal I’m reading 1.7 but the courtesy light doesn’t light till I touch terminal to battery post.
My guess is that the door is open. If light go;s out when door is closed then start by pulling 1 fuse at a time to eliminate fused power. If that does not work then it gets harder as you have to go to components like the voltage regulator, horn relay and so forth.
I would suguest you start with the fuse box.
Because the meter is very high resistance, all the voltage drop is in the meter and not in the light bulb. If the meter was a bulb it would light up and not the courtesy lamp.
The courtesy light (and timer) will turn on every time you attach the meter across the battery. Door open or closed makes no difference. Have to disable that circuit or you are in for a long day.

That’s the thing it doesn’t. Only when I attach the battery cable
Turn all the lights off in the garage or at night, an make Dam sure the light (if you have one) is not staying on in the middle glove box. It happened to me because the door had to be pushed down until the catch “clicks.”
