Default Replacing the flashers

I am going to try LED lights for the rear and possibly the front to avoid accidents. In my daily driver, I have been hit 3 times when I stop either due to traffic on the LIE or red lights. People just do not seem to pay attention anymore.

Anyway, to my question. I have been told by a member on the board “You will need to replace the flashers- both the hazard and turn signal one. GM changed the polarity (swapped the wires around) of the flashed I think in the mid 80s- so not all flashers are created equal.” This is the one I recommend- as the polarity doesn't matter. Plug it in and ground the wire-rather than worry about the polarity.

Getting the flasher will be easy as my son works at NAPA.

In a 1969 Corvette, where are the flasher located? Will I have to remove the dash?

One flasher in fuse box, one under passenger side dash which does not require dash removal, just reach for it.

I converted to very bright LEDs on the rear, and 2357 (Looks like a 1157 - only brighter) incandescent in the front.
Needed a new electronic flasher for signals, however the original hazard flasher worked fine.

Thank you gentlemen. One follow up question. The flasher in fuse box is for signal or hazard?

One last question.

At Flasher - Turn Signal NF EL12L1 | Buy Online - NAPA Auto Parts (napaonline.com) is says Flasher - Turn Signal. Is the hazard flasher the same? In other words, can I buy two of the NF EL12L1 for both the flasher and turn signal???
