Default Ridetech Offset Trailing Arms

Can anyone tell me if the offset trailing arms that Ridetech offers is also a 2" like the ones from Vansteel?
I called Ridetech the other day and talked with one of their guys and he could not give me a definitive answer. Rather unencouraging if I say so.
Currently running 245/60r15 on stock Rally wheels.
Planning on going with 15x10 6in backspace Torq Thrust wheels with 295/50r15 radials. In theory that should bring the inner tire wall inboard 2" while leaving my outer tire wall exactly where it was originally.

here is the clearance with a 18 x9.5" wheel with 4.75" backspacing.

Here is where the wheel sits on the car.

My tire hits the frame rail well before the trailing arm on my 82. An offset trailing arm wouldn't allow more backspacing because it's not the limiting factor. Are the earlier years different?

Other limiting factors. Rear Spring. This is with 4.75 Backspace wheels. If using Ridetech coilovers this is not a issue.

Sway bar if installed.

Thanks for the pics. Yes the rear spring clearance was a factor in my decision for coil overs. I'll have to get my car up and check the clearance with the frame rail too i guess.

I did a lot of research on this forum when selecting wheels and the most backspacing anyone has successfully used is 5.25" (without frame modifications). My rear wheels have 5.13" backspacing and clear when stationary but obviously contact when turning hard.

Curious as to what size wheels and tires you are using on the rear that would come that close?
I may have to rethink my rear combo.

Save your coin and buy Get the Vansteel with the coil over mounts setup. No more worries about tire/spring interference.

Still the frame is the problem. Coil overs will not help

On a 15x10 inch wheel the end of the spring rubbed on a 295. Coil overs cure this problem. But I went to a fiberglass VBP shortened spring as advised by VBP , no more clearance problem but the ride was terrible. Tried a few different spring rates and couldn't get a ride like the factory metal spring. Switched back with 17 inch wheels and and ran 315's on back. I always liked the look of the 15 inch tires better.

My plan this time is to have the Aluminum factory rear wheel widened by one inch and run 295's on the back with the coil overs. I saw it once and it looked fantastic...

They're 275/40R18s. The outer edge is nearly flush with the fender, pretty much identical to what cagotzmann shows in his pictures.

I can definitely see how the leaf spring would rub with 15 inch rims. The larger 18" diameter wheel allows the spring to fit inside of it instead of contacting a bulging tire sidewall. Van Steel makes 1/2" and 1" shortened composite leafs for additional clearance.

I like the idea of having the stock wheel widened

Narrow the frame run offset TAs or coil overs and flare the fenders if you really want wide tires
