Differential Spring Pack
I am working on a differential rebuild. Picked up a diff with 3.36. Thought I'd practice on my original diff which is a 3.08. Watched Tom's posi tuning videos and followed alot of the posts of Gary. First one went pretty well. I am in the middle of the 3.36 rebuild. I have Tom's shims and have both side axles shimmed to .005. I spun the posi 50 times in each direction on my old axle set up in my vice. Felt really good. Since I'm no expert I thought I'd reinstall the spring pack which I did. I put the posi on axle set up and cannot turn the unit by hand at all. I thought I read somewhere that the posi should spin with resistance but not extreme effort. Have I shimmed too tight? Thanks for any advice.
