Damn, Jim... Is that my old Pinto SCCA racecar you have in your garage...??

OK, I'll keep the Texas flag right there next to the Shiner Bock tap handle....

Actually, the Chevy/GMC 350 engines with the 12:00 timing tab ran from '77-'86, part #462846. I agree that no stock Corvette ever came with it, but we don't know that the OP's engine is original to his car.

Owen -
But then it would have the 12:00 timing tab on it, which it doesn't.... those timing tabs were welded to the timing chain cover.

It's my High School Hot Rod. My Dad bought it new..and I was the first to ride in it. 2.0, 4 speed, factory slots, disc brakes and A/C! With a milled head, headers, cam, 4.11's and B50x13's and every little trick I could come up with from reading Hot Rod Magazines it ran 14.60's!! Somehow I still have it...except it sat in my buddy's pasture for about 35 years...so it gained a little patina.

It's now being transformed into the life size Hot Wheels car my 17 year old self dreamed of. It's getting a 408" Clevor with a solid Ultradyne cam and an 8/71 blower with a couple of Holley's. Behind it is a Doug Nash "race" 5 speed crash box with an in-line shifter and a McLeod Soft Lok slipper clutch. That's going to an 8.8" rear with 3.73's. I've welded in subframe connectors, made new rear floorboard to raise them high enough to tuck some mufflers under there. Adding roll bar etc.

I got it sitting in there a couple of inches lower than this first mock up pic.

How the heck to I get into this stuff?? LOL

You will never see one on a Vette because it doesn't work with the short water pump.......
