That WOULD be sweet, but my garage is 'vertically challenged'. Plus, if I found a way to stuffed that in, where would I put that Ridiculously Awesome pallet?
Ok, now that I am getting closer to finishing the 350, I am starting to have second thoughts on the 406. Yes, I am starting to lean towards an LS swap. I have been doing a lot of research and am thinking the 'newer technology is the way to go. Looking at 6.0 LQ4 engines, but if anyone wants to chime in on a more suitable model/choice, please let me know. Definitely want a 6.0 because if I'm going to do the swap, I want to go 'big'.
Figure I'll sell the 79 400 block (bored out .030 over to 406) and the accessories I have for it. That should help recoup some of the $$$ I have in it.
Now I just have to find the LS engine/harness/ecm/etc for less than an arm-and-a-leg, as LS engine prices are shooting up quickly........
I ended up finding a rebuilt 406.. swapping heads cam and pistons though to have 10:1 compression and my dyno software tells me an optimistic 481hp and 501lbs or torque which is higher than I'm likely to get but still much better than the 355.
I was porting my new intake manifold earlier today.
@Tech141, we're going to need to see some photos of that ridiculously awesome pallet (and the LQ4, too). If you start a new build thread, please drop a link here!
