Default 1970 Carb numbers?

Howdy everyone. I acquired a surprisingly original 1970 barn find this week. It has less than 70K on it. (Thanks to bacchus382 for going to look at it for me!) The numbers on the block match and even the air cleaner looks to be original. Ugly but original.

The one that that I'm seeing however us that the carb numbers are not what they should be. 7040202 or 7040212 would be expected but this appears to be a 7040511. Did Chevy use these carbs on Corvettes? I emailed Lars yesterday about a rebuild -- it sent me down this rabbit hole lol.

Interesting. So maybe I would just be better off buying a new "7040202".

You can't buy a new Q-Jet carb.
