Re: Dialup, DSL, Cable.... what do YOU use? (Smokehouse69)
DSL It rocks. It is faster than my T1 line at work witch slows down really bad when everyone is on the network there. Used to have a cable modem a few moths ago the we moved and got DSL.......I think I like DSL a little better....seems faster.

I added OC (Optical Circuit)...For fellow tech weenies we run Fast-E from the desktop, this traffic is aggregated on Gig-E border routers, and than goes on to one of our local OC 192 Core Backbone Routers located on another floor...

Fiber at work (thus, where I surf!) and 56K dialup at home. No cable in this worthless town yet (at least for 'net access), so I limit it to E-mail and the kids homework.

I had DSL but I was right at the max distance and it disconnected once a month so I got a cable modem. DSL is faster then cable but not by much. And DSL does not slow down because the bandwidth to the backbone is fixed. Where the bandwidth to the backbone on a cable modem depends on how many cable customers are on the internet at any point in time. If my DSL did not bail out once a month I would have kept it

I have cable but hate it. Charter Pipeline does an absolutely terrible job. It is just insane how poor the service is for how much you pay. I'd rather have DSL because it is faster and costs less, but I like having the digital cable box, so I don't know.
