I have no intention of building my aluminum Batwing differential, and I have a 79 diff ready should it grenade.

I'm betting the D44 cap upgrade is for the Jeep crowd and not the Vette , the case itself is weak on the Vette and would be the next weak point after a cap upgrade , D44's are common in Jeep Cherokee's and at the 4wd jamboree crowd
