Horn Issues (79)
Hi all,
Need some help with my horn, it was working fine (by fine it was finnicky, but working regardless). I had changed out the steering wheel with no issues, went to go test drive with the new steering wheel and when i turned to the right the horn would go off. I had initially thought maybe the new steering wheel was thicker than the original, so i tried to remove some shims in the assembly, no change. I went all the way down and removed everything again. I left the battery on this time to test what the issues were. The little button with the spring did not activate the horn even when I manually pushed it... does that have to touch metal? idk. I got all the way down to the steering column and found the giant spring around the column was touching the little square horn contact when the column was turned causing it to honk. Thought this was my solution just adjusting that spring. Now after it is back together, I only have a horn when the telescope feature is all the way in and tilted to a certain point. If i tilt all the way up and telescope all the way in, I have a constant honk... wtf. Any guidance on this? I have taken this steering wheel assembly off about 25 times and am quite sick of it with no avail. Let me know if I am missing something obvious!!

Disregard! I will leave post up for future reference for others. I was able to make a ground with a screwdriver from the little metal shear pin looking deal and the center of the horn, so I realized I had a poor ground and the coil that controls the telescoping feature was making a better ground when turning the wheel. I cleaned off all the metal pieces, including the metal shims/spacers, and the horn works perfect in all positions!
