Cracks me up all of these recommendations for a carb and the fact is....if you do not change the intake.....you are stuck with the original (for which there is no better replacement when in top running condition) or the 650cfm Holley spread bore....
There is an epidemic of people that buy these adapter plates to use a square bore on a spread bore intake and then bolt a shitty Edelbrock carb on top of that with no regulator.....but....it is nice and shiny. Stay far away from the spacer.....
If you cannot fix the carb you have......the Holley spread bore is the right choice.....it works damn good and is built on the "classic" line with their other "classic" gold zinc carbs.....and you pay for it.
I seriously recommend finding someone to go through your Q-Jet......even if you did put an intake on it I would keep the Q-Jet......the Q-jet loves a 2101 Performer intake.....
Well for certain I won't argue with Jebby. In fact I'll ask his opinion and follow it!
But years ago when I dumped the Qjet because no one had a clue how to recalibrate it. Even I was clever enough to know to change the intake manifold.
Which of course opened the door to all kinds of fitment issues. From power brakes vacuum take off to throttle cable fitment and on and on.
No free lunch.
