This may be a silly question, I replaced my steering wheel no issues, however the actual horn button broke when I was trying to put it back on. Horn still works without the cover but obviously I would prefer the cover to be on. I ordered this kit https://www.classicindustries.com/pr...rts/y1091.html
I am confused how this is supposed to go on… obviously the metal bracket attaches to the guts of the horn, but how does the black cover and emblem stay connected??? Am i missing something simple? I held it up but the issue is it does not depress the horn. I am very confused. TIA
Very curious how yours broke. Can you post pics of the pieces - especially the backside of the large main ring?
If it's like earlier horn buttons, there are three "pins" cast into the rear of the main ring that are peened after the parts are assembled. Kinda like rivets. I disassembled mine to paint the metal and polish the emblem, then used JB Weld to reassemble since the "pins" were drilled out to remove the emblem.
