I have a 1979 Corvette in the seats are in OK condition but the cloth on the back is terrible. It’s not there anymore and I think it looks pretty bad so I’m looking to get an over seat cover like the one picture below. I’m trying to see if there’s anybody with experience in a similar predicament that can recommend me to a good over seat cover that fits tight and does not look ugly.
I dont know about covers due to the nature of how we get in and out of the car I just dont see them staying in place long. I went with vinyl seat covers to replace the deteriorated leather. these needed to be insatlled which was work but for $300 for the pair from ebay they still look new 12 years later.

Not certain about that price anymore, but new seat upholstery is the correct answer. I'm just a mechanic and I managed to recover mine all by myself. And they look amazing.

They actually have not changed in price if you can believe it.. I managed to do mine with no experience as well.
the real problem for me isn’t the upholstery it’s the seat backs. They are carpet and it looks god awful so a full over seat cover would cover that up. But I guess is there a way to buy or redo that seat back for a pretty cheap price?

I believe the carpet piece comes out like an insert and it would be easy to cover it with some other fabric or carpet.. I think its just glued on.
