If you can drive it for 15 minutes and then it starts this, that's not vapor lock. Lars is right about the thermal heating problem. I put the sheet aluminum heat shield under my Holley (LT-1) and I also took the butterfly valve out of my exhaust heat riser and blocked off the exhaust passage through the intake manifold.
I was having a problem of driving the car somewhere and letting it sit for a while (summer time) and then when I came out and started to drive off it would run bad and quit until I could get some cooler gas into the carb. The ethanol will boil at a lower temp than gas.
I haven't had this problem since.
thank you, and wow. Last time was 15 minute drive and 2 prior times about 10 minutes. Twice the car went sour in same neighborhood and I had to limp home and miraciously made it before battery went dead from trying to restart so much. Next time I drive and when car goes car goes bad I’ll do more testing when engine is messing up. Always use non ethanol 93 octane. Thanks again
