Default !981 Head back system

So I have been struggling and thought I would reach out to the experts. I have an 1981, Flo-tek heads. Looking for an exhaust system. I have heard several answers but this one seems to be my solution. Has anyone used the Corvette Central part number 323130? According to them it is the perfect solution. But before I spend $1200 plus shipping I wanted some input. Any input or new suggestions??

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have a part number on your Flotek heads? I have a pair myself which have raised exhaust ports, which could lead to some fitment issues. They don’t list them on the website specifically, but Corvette Central does say you will run into issues using AFR/Bowtie heads which also have the raised exhaust ports. There might have to be some bending to get the kit to fit.

Another option would be a set of long tube headers like Flowtech 31106FLT, finding an exhaust shop locally, and have them build you a true dual exhaust. Depending on the place it might actually be cheaper than buying the kit, plus you get the additional performance of long tube headers.

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. The Flo-Tek part number is 102-505FT. I had mentioned that to Corvette Central… they didn’t mention any fitment
issues.
