So I bought this mirror and it came with a tube of silicone glue and after carefully cleaning the glass I glued the mount to the glass and let it sit for 24 hours. The mount looked a bit unusual as it had depressions in a pattern instead of the normal smooth surface. So I mounted the mirror and it promptly fell off so a complete waste of time and money.
Does anyone know of a inside rear view mirror that actually works?
i am having the same issue with my 77 - permatex didn't work for me either - interestingly I am now also having the same issue with the rear view mirror on my IH Scout, though it does last a few months each time where the corvette seems to fall off within a week or less. I am pretty sure it is something I am doing or not doing since I am having the same issue on 2 different cars now - i am thinking I am not getting the glass clean enough -

The glass and the button must be super clean, I "think" it helps to use some fine sandpaper on the button. In my case I have to fill the voids with JB Weld or something so the 1-2 drop glue will work.
