Differential, U joints, or brake pads moving from excessive rotor runout tend to be the most common causes. Jacking the car up to see if you can recreate the noise with it in the air could help.

Dust shield behind a rotor bent against the rotor can cause a God awful squeal in reverse. Lots of possibilities. Perhaps jacking car up and checking, looking sounds like a good plan.
