I've got an '82, running the standard Rallys with Goodyear GTs . . . I'd like to replace them with the optional Aluminum wheels and Firestone SS20s. Recently I've seen chromed alloys (about $300 more) than the polished units. Anybody out there spring for the chromes? Are they worth it? What's your opinion on what would look better? (I'm keeping the Rallys, so I can keep it "original" when I sell it in 2023  )
If you are talking about the chrome aluminum wheels marketed by Corvette
America, they look great. Am concerned about how they will hold up over
time. Will the chrome flake off the aluminum?

Good point. I thought about chromies but am so glad I didn't. Since I bought the rims 5 years ago they have racked up several cuts from non-caring tire shops with their air rachet all around the lug nut holes and by now they would have completely flaked off especially when washing with a high pressure water wand. If you love the look then get them but be prepared to invest in a re-dip within 3 years unless your awful careful..i.e. insist on tire shops using a hand rachet. Upon torquing up of the air rachet the side of the socket will hit the side of the lug nut hole and that's where the chrome will start to peel. Good luck.
