AC Compressor Bracket 6-Groove question
Does anyone know why the bracket for the V-Belt is different and maybe adapters or something? I'm sure I could have something fabricated but at the expense I would rather not have.
Motor goes in next week and i jeed to swap out all of the pullys again if I can't figure it out.
Thanks for any feedback, I'm a novice at this stuff.

This is the right place to be if you have any questions or issues with a C3 Corvette. We are glad you have joined the Corvette Forum and look forward to hearing from you. If you keep up with this Forum you can learn so much about Corvettes as there are some amazing people here who are experts in their field. There are so many members who have had their C3's for decades and have a lot of knowledge that they can share with you, IF you need any help
I AGREE with the above post from panic!! Check with March Performance as they make some really nice brackets and pulleys. When I converted my 1968 C3 BB to a serpentine belt they offered brackets for A/C that will fit in a Corvette.
March Performance offers both inward and outer mounting brackets for the A/C on a small block. They are in stock and ready for delivery.
The conversion kit I bought from March Performance was delivered quickly and was very complete. The only negative I have had with them was one of my brackets has a large sheet/piece of Powder Coating that peeled off and became unattached from the base aluminum. It was kind of ugly so I polished the base metal and now it is hard to notice where it happened.
Do you have a compressor bracket already?
I suspect it could be easily modified to do belt alignment. On my 68 when I installed a/c I modified the bracket so I could align the compressor v-belt pulley and drive it from the forwardmost (#3) of the pulleys (formerly for use with smog pump). My Sanden came with a dual v-belt pulley ..... so by using the forwardmost pulley on the compressor allowed me to minimize the amount of mod to the bracket.
I measured, cut the bracket, and inserted a spacer..... been working great for years.
I can find a pic if you want to see.
