1982 starting issues
I’ve had ongoing staring issues on my 82 after driving awhile it won’t start until it sits for awhile anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. There’s no clicking just the dash lights come on and it makes no attempt to start, I replaced the starter solenoid and starter cable early last year worked great until last fall when the issue started again over winter I replaced the ignition switch and the stater interrupt everything worked great until today and the issue started again. Any ideas would be helpful

Check the 6 pin connector located close to the heater box - passenger side. The power from the 2 fusible links and starter (purple wire) goes through that connector. I had an intermittent issue and found the connector melted.

Are headers involved here?
Is there some type of starter heat shield, wrap, etc?
When you replaced the solenoid, did you purchase the Heavy-Duty ceramic end cap unit?
Is there a GRD cable from starter to frame?

From: Arizona - If you don’t know CFI, STOP proliferating the myths around it...
It sounds and looks like you have a bad starter. Try the hammer, if it starts you know what you have to do. The hammer trick usually works in that situation, but not 100%.
