Yea-the roses go away after you have been married awhile. They just do not provide the umph that they once did.
This year I opted for the Victoria's Secret Gift Certificate.
I did not have to go through the pain (or enjoyment depending on how you look at it) of picking something out and I certainly did not have to listen to her tell me that I picked out the wrong thing (you married guys know what I mean).
This is a win/win because you know whatever she is going to buy with the GC will be well worth the money!

Get a dog or do the guy thing and break up two weeks before any of the above. Hint: Doesn't seem to work with marriage. They then own everything.

Oh, I love these threads. Screw the flowers. Reminds me of a story I once heard.
A little girl was asking her Mommy where babies come from, and Mommy told her that dad sticks his thing below Mommy's waist, and that's where babies come from. The little girl then told her Mommy that she once saw dad stick his thing in Mommy's mouth, and then asked Mommy, what's that bring?
Mommy then replied, "Oh, that's where Mommy gets her jewelry!"

I just got robbed. I bought my wife a saphire ring last night for $390 and I never got any of that. I also bought her a box of her favorite dark chocolates and just 2 long stem red roses. Still didn't get any of that :confused:
