Thanks again.. The plan is to replace all you listed. Also fingers crossed for no or very low metal and I won't need to go further with the repair! Luckily the car no longer needs any emissions testing here, safety only..

Sounds like you’ve already covered a lot of the basics. On these Crossfires, popping through the throttle body can often be timing-related, could be ignition timing drifted or even a worn distributor. Also worth checking for vacuum leaks around the intake since they can cause a lean pop under throttle.
