As I mentioned, I'm guessing quite some time to get the amp from it's hiding place. (Hours in and out) then days/weeks for a rebuild for 100s of $s, all to now make 50 year old wiring the weakest link of the ignition system.
I now have an HEI module for $30. Should take about 20 minutes to make the necessary leads and another 10 minutes to install once I acquire a suitable heat sink. No contest for time, convenience, cost. (At least until I do all that and it doesn't work!)
