Yes, This is the most minor of fixes in my resto, but I am insistent on having every single thing work correctly on my 69 vert. (I even rebuilt the clock, which now keeps prefer time). The headlight door warning switches, which I have operational as intended, are now hampered by one of the female waterproof rubber receptacles into which the switch’s T-configured terminals fit. One of the two wires that feed into it broke off inside the plug. I cannot figure out a way to repair it and return it to functionality, and I cannot find a replacement to buy. The switches are easy to come by- but the receptacle not so much. Any ideas from the C3 Braintrust???
Thanks for checking for me…and great idea. Does anyone have an old harness that has the piece that I am missing who would be willing to remove it and sell it to me?
You can try some of the Corvette Salvage Stores, but they will charge you a handsome price. You will most likely have to buy the whole harness, not just the one for the indicator switch. I would attach spade lugs to each of the switch terminals and then solder/heat shrink to the existing harness.
I believe that plug was molded around the 2 wires...
I'm not 100% certain the link below is a hard plastic housing or rubber as original was.
It does have 2 series 56 cells for FM terminals and the placement is offset...
The same page shows a 14-16 gauge FM terminals if you need those... https://brillman.com/product/2-cavit...ih-headlights/
On My ,75 the headlight transit switch stays on all the time the lights are open and in the correct position. Off when the headlights are off. Where on the car are these located? I suspect one of the switches is defective or has a wire issue? Your thoughts?

Oldsilver75,
it sounds like your switches are doing exactly what the are supposed to do- telling you that your lights are up, but not locked into position, and being held in place by vacuum only. If you’re sure they are locked, then it sound as if the button(s) on one or both of the switches are not fully depressing when the lights are raised. I would get under the car and watch the motion as someone raises the headlight via the headlight switch. See if it presses up against the metal plate. If it does, then the switch is not working and should be replaced. They are quite fragile in my experience. I’m about to install switch #4. If it doesn’t, an adjustment may be in order for you. Make sure the nut is fully (hand) tightened, and that the switch is positioned so that the correct side with the button (there are four sides) makes contact.
In the almost center of this photo between the 2 springs and just above the switch we're talking about is the hex end of an odd threaded bolt that is used to adjust how far the door opens.
If the headlight is on and but the warning light in the gauge cluster remains on either the door isn't opening far enough to shut the warning light off or the switch might be defective.
Remember that both sides turn that switch off so one side could be o.k. but not the other.
