Comes off passenger side of carberater, then ends up on driver side of engine to no where?

There are no wires coming off the carburetor. Remove the air cleaner and take a photo of where the wire is really coming from. The connector looks like the connector for the water temperature sending unit. Is that a green wire with a black stripe..? Just look at the wiring diagram in your Shop Manual.

I'm sorry traced wrong wire.that green wire is running to side of carberater, this one is green and black wire been like this since 2012, when I bought the car

Well temperature on the gauge is always running normal when I drive it ,

1980 or 1981? Choke coil?

It would be easier to remove the air cleaner assembly and take better photos than to speculate...
