Default Oil pan help

I bought my first corevette earlier this year, a 1980 L48. I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and I'm having trouble finding an oil pan that will fit over my oil pump pick-up. Iam attaching a picture of my oil pan which has a loger sump but not necessarily deeper. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify this. I may need a different oil pick-up but I'm not sure.

So that was the oil pan that was on the previous engine? And you rebuilt it with a new oil pump? And I’m assuming the pump is non adjustable? Or can you adjust the oil pick up to be the right clearance from the bottom of the pan?
On engine builds I prefer to rotate and set the pickup height and then tack the tube.

That is the old oil pan. I'm attaching a picture of the new pan next to the old showing the difference in the sump and also a picture of the new oil pump and pick-up that is the same dimesnsions as the old one.
The pick-up will rotate but it will not fit into the sump as it extends too far forward.

Simply reuse the original pan. Or purchase one that fits a Corvette.

The one I ordered is listed as the replacement but obviously doesn't work. I can use the original one but it was a little distorted and I'm not sure how well I straightened it.

Pans and oil pickups are like a matched pair.

Send the replacement back and get one that actually fits.

It might help some of us to advise; if you specify exactly which pump, pickup and pan Part Numbers are. New one looks like pan for pickup truck. Maybe it is?

How and from where are you sourcing these parts ?

The original blue pan is the "Corvette" pan and it uses a specific Corvette pickup. The new black pan is a "Camaro" style pan that uses a different shaped pickup. They need to match.

The black pan has less ground clearance. I don't know why you would change to it. The black generic pan is inexpensive, but you need the generic Camaro style pickup to use it.

You're wanting to use that silver colored pan?
Is that what was on there?
If that's what fits over the pump I'd keep it.
