Default Headlight Door Warning Switch

Hey Guys, would anyone happen to have the female wiring pigtail that the headlight open warning door switch plugs into? One of mine broke off right where the wires enter the rubber molding part of the female plug.

I attached a photo of the switch and circled the plug and wire portion that I need (this is a photo that forum member “Alan 71” posted in another thread).
I need the female plug with a little bit of wire coming out of it.

If no one has one, do you have any suggestions? Can the end of that rubber connector be cut back enough to expose enough wire on the back of the plug to solder to the wiring harness?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Tricky!!!

Is there any chance that you can pull the actual connector that's in the plug out so you can push the broken wire through the plug so you can make the connection and then pull the connector and newly joined wire back through plug?
If you can understand that sentence it will be a miracle.

Regards....

I don’t think so, I’ll look at it closer tonight when i get back home.

But I think those two wires are molded into the rubber… as if the rubber was hot and liquid, then you put those two wires in the liquid rubber, then the rubber cooled into a solid piece with those wires inside it. (I have no idea how they actually did it, just trying to give you a visual)

Both of my wires are broken off flush to the rubber where they go in. I suppose if I can’t find that plug anywhere, I can get a generic “L” female connecter, plug it in, then put some kind of waterproofing goop around the connection.

Thank you for your response… appreciate it!

You may be better cutting off the OEM connector, and soldiering two spade connectors that will fit the plastic switch. You can also see if Lectric Limited will sell you just the connectors, and not the entire harness.
