On my72 base convertible i have what i suspect is a RF choke of some kind in line with the power for the blower fan. I don't find it listed in AIM or on any of the schematics I have so would like to confirm that is what it is. If that is the case, it would serve no purpose when I upgrade the radio(?). inline with fan power
It is also not on my new harness from Lectric.
thanks for any thoughts.

I'll have to look on my 1971 to see if it's on my car. It's a noise capacitor to keep electrical noise out of the primitive radios back then. If you have a modern stereo it should have an input power noise cancelling circuit built in so no need for a noise cap anymore.
I agree probably not needed on a modern radio/receiver. You can tell if the fan does interfere by adjusting fan speed and see if you can hear interference and does it change with fan speed.
If you ever have to work on your speedometer ( I sincerely hope you don’t), there may be a capacitor under the dash, around the steering column. My 73 has a capacitor added, most likely after the car left St. Louis, installed because of noise on AM Radio Stations.
