I can't read the printing on the cable. I do know it was marine grade copper with a coating of silver to prevent. I got what I was told to get by a good friend. This marine grade stuff must have different markings. Does 8 or 10 gauge seem right?
You know, I don’t know. I have just recently started learning about electrical stuff. I do know the lower the number the thicker it gets. I would assume that if I look at what’s there and just go a size thicker then that would at least lean me in the right direction. I’m sure someone with more knowledge than me can chime in.
Google search “Wire Gauge Chart”.
There are several to choose from and they will give you the diameter of the wire strands and some will even show the amperage rating and resistance for each size and material.
You can’t measure the wire insulation because some wire has thicker insulation.
Also make sure the wire insulation is rated for any heat source you are subjecting it to.
Some insulations will melt at a much lower temperature than others.
Some insulations are also very sensitive to chemicals like gas, oil, alcohol and even coolant.
In other words, make sure the wire is rated for automotive use.
Marine grade or not --- Suggest, double-check cable innards & Verify there is lotsa fine copper wire strands under the shiny stuff --- aluminum not so good.

I would never use aluminum wire besides aluminum wire is not coast guard approved under any circumstances. Automotive grade is not as high quality. Nelson Crozier was a good friend of mine and set me on the right path on electrical components. He owned nelson specialties racing ignitions . You probably wouldn't know the name but he made electrical components for NASCAR and NHRA for guys like warren Johnson and others.

The late great Nelson "wizard" set you straight then.
I also counted Nelson as a friend. Our relationship began via professional racing businesses. I learned much from him as well.
Nelson reminded me of wally *** with the white mechanics jacket. We called him the professor lol.
He was the original owner of a 67 GTX with a Hemi. He was driving it daily into the late 70's. It got stolen and stripped . I drove out to Manassas Virginia from merry field to identify the shell.. I had a 66 charger with a factory Hemi also. That was long ago. Great memories.

Depends not only on the amount of current but also the length.
Another variable is heat- under the hood- the general rule of thumb is to move up tho the next size as the heat adds resistance.

"occult" traction control; buried deep inside an analog 6 box or tach (Yes Nascar deemed TC illegal Looong ago, but a wizard can find a "specialty" way).
Now Nascar hasn't had 6 boxes for years & years.
