hi, my driver side window sticks in the down position. as it goes up and down, the horizontal sliding track in my pictures scrapes over the motor mount bolts on the back side of the window motor. the sliding track gets hooked under the lower motor mount bolt and then can't come back up. if i pull the motor inward, away from the sliding track, the window goes up and down freely.
is there supposed to be some kind of guard/fender to keep the window bottom away from the motor mount bolts?
i adjusted a fuzzy window guide at the top of the door and that helped a bit, but window still binds in fully down position.
When I had the door cards off my '75 coupe, one of the guide wheels had fallen off the track and was laying in the bottom of the door. And the track did not scrape the window motor. Perhaps your vertical tracks are set incorrectly and too close to the motor, or have come loos on the bottom mount.
Or the motor is mounted with some type of bushing that extends the motor out towards the outer door skin.
Bottom line - the two items you identified in your pics should have plenty of clearance.
thanks Zanny! i will look for a loose bottom connection for the vertical tracks! definitely you are correct about there should be more clearance. window was working for years, so makes sense that something came loose, but i haven't changed anything in there--except for constantly fishing the mirror remote out of the door. that thing constantly falls into the door, no matter how firmly i screw it to the inner door panel mount.
guess i should also remove the passenger door panel to compare, since that side works fine.
